Help for the Hurting
-
Help for the Alabama South
District
is about transforming a community.
Our vision is to
bring individuals
together to offer hope in
our communities
and the entire
South of Alabama. We will assist families in need through Compassionate
Ministries acts
such as feeding the hungry and clothing the needy. This is offered through
events like
Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to those without
food and family during the holidays
and offering
programs that deal with real life issues such as drug abuse and
addictions.
"If anyone has material possessions and sees his
brother in need but has no pity on him,
how can the love of God be in in him? Dear
children, let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth" 1 John 3:17, 18 (NIV)

Outreach in our Communities
-
Outreach for the Alabama South
District
is about small acts of
kindness done with
great love which
will transform our communities. Our vision is that each church will
actively serve
their community through servant evangelism. Reaching our neighbors by
acts such
as giving away free
water during the summer months, and serving the fire
departments, police
stations, area businesses, and government agencies in our
communities through random acts of
kindness
transforming our mission areas.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has
received to serve others, faithfully administering
God's grace in its various
forms." 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)

Planting
New Churches and Praying for
the Moving of God in our Churches
-
Planting
churches is what will keep our district alive and growing.
The church should
be the most
irresistible place in the community. Through God's provision, we will be
able
to create relevant,
irresistible environments in South Alabama. Our goal is to create
churches
where the Holy Spirit is free to work in the hearts and lives of adults
and
children, and to which
they, in turn, will be compelled to invite their friends and family
members. The Alabama
South District is involved in the development and resourcing of
two kinds of church
plants.
Daughter Churches
The first type of
church plant is "Daughter Churches" who are mothered by a local church
by
providing people
and/or resources to help the daughter church start and sustain as a
new church community.
Partner Churches
These churches are
independent of local churches, but share the same mission,
strategy, core values,
and desire to create life changing environments. They provide their
own leadership,
government, and financing. The local church who partners with such a
church may assist
financially.

Praying
for the moving of God across the South Alabama District.
"When I pray, coincidences happen,
and when I don't pray, they don't." --William Temple
"Whether we think of or speak to
God; whether we act or suffer for him; all is prayer when we have no other
object than his love, and the desire
of pleasing him." --John Wesley
"Prayer does not fit us for the
greater work, prayer is the greater work." --Oswald Chambers

Evangelizing in our World
-
Evangelizing
our world means that we are intentional about evangelizing our world
and sharing the
life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
This can be
accomplished through
short-term mission
trips, evangelistic efforts in our communities, and personal
evangelism. We must be
proactive in reaching the lost which
will keep our district alive
and growing.
Not only do people
need Jesus Christ but they need His transforming power
through the fullness of the
Holy Spirit found in the experience of heart holiness. Before
such experience can
be obtained, it is vitally necessary to lead people to the saving
knowledge of Jesus
Christ.
"Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19, 20 (NIV)
